OHRC and HRPA webinar on preventing discrimination based on creed

The OHRC and the Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) invite employers to learn about how to effectively prevent, recognize, respond to and address discrimination based on creed—a professed system and confession of faith, including beliefs and observances or worship—in the workplace.
Learning objectives:
- Recognizing forms of discrimination based on creed
- Applying the duty to accommodate to creed beliefs and practices
- Respecting Indigenous Spirituality
- Preventing and responding to creed-based discrimination
Main Speaker Bio: Bob Sherman is a senior policy analyst at the OHRC, with a focus on working with organizations to bring about human rights organizational change. In his most recent jobs, he spent almost six years working on accessibility for people with disabilities at the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General and the Accessibility Directorate of Ontario. Prior to that, Bob worked as a human resources practitioner with a strong human rights component, including development of Ontario Public Service policies related to accommodation of employees with disabilities, as well as workplace discrimination and harassment prevention. Bob also has experience in labour relations, recruitment and human resources planning. He has provided extensive advice and training in all these areas to human resources practitioners and managers.
